Discovering What Makes Grasshoppers Happy
Repeat business and referrals, we all want them. I came across a post one day on Active Rain about a Happy Grasshopper that could keep me in touch with past clients in a warm and friendly way.
Another contact management system??? I already send my data base Open Houses, Just Listed, Just Sold, Newsletters, Holiday Greetings and blah, blah, blah.
How much more email would they read? Hmmm, I did not know the answer to this as I never get a response from any of the other emails. I was intrigued with the name so I went to the site to check it out. It seemed appealing to me so I signed up for the FREE Account. Well being the busy little bee that I am I did not go back and add my contacts for quite some time. But then I received a friendly email from theHappy Grasshopper encouraging me to upload my contacts so I set time aside and did just that.
A couple of weeks later the first email went out and I received 4 reply emails. Needless to say I was pleasantly surprised. One was from a past client who told me to keep my eyes open as they were thinking about going into a smaller home. That means they will be selling their home as well. Another email was wishing me a Happy New Year and asking me a question about a CO-OP. The third was a friendly reply from someone I just sold a house to and the fourth was from someone I have had on a prospect match who has never replied to any of my other emails. Pretty Amazing!
Getting Even More Results
The second email produced results as well. There was someone who had visited my website, back in December, that was looking for a market evaluation on her dads house. Of course I sent her one, she lives out of state and is endeavoring to have him move out by her. Well after receiving the email from Happy Grasshopper she replied to let me know that she will be coming in and having me over to list the house. Another reply came in from a past client to tell me she was pregnant with her second child and to stop over to see them. I thought, How nice is that.
This is a great way to keep the lines of communication open between you, your past clients and others you may do business with. Such as lawyers, home inspectors, appraisers etc. There is an option at the bottom of the page for them to refer you. It is such a friendly and warm way to ask.
