Integration

Working Together

Here at Happy Grasshopper we’re super-duper proud of the emails we write – they’re engaging, fun, and help our customers stay top-of-mind with folks. With that said, one of the most important features we offer our customers is automation. This automation comes in the form of integration with CRMs and other popular marketing platforms to make your life (and success) easier. If you aren’t taking advantage of integration, you’re missing out on simplifying your entire marketing process…and trust us, simplification is something you want.

Integration and why you need it

Integration in its simplest form is just a connection between two systems – two platforms working together to achieve a kind of synergy, making each other better in the process. If you’re a real estate agent using multiple systems, working with a lead may look something like this:

  • A new lead fills out a form on your website
  • You log in, take the lead’s info and import it into your CRM
  • You categorize your lead based on where it came from (e.g. website) within your CRM
  • You then move your lead from your CRM to Happy Grasshopper, categorize them again, and begin them on an email campaign.

That’s a lot of work for one lead right? Even more work for 100 leads…

On the other hand, if you’ve set up integration with both Happy Grasshopper and your CRM to automate from your website, the process looks much different;

  • A new lead fills out a form on your website
  • The lead then flows into your CRM and Happy Grasshopper automatically, categorized according to the lead source, and databased in both systems to start their campaign. All without you lifting a finger.

We’re no rocket surgeons, but the second part looks like less work!

How to set up integration

There are different ways in which platforms allow integration. For full integration, meaning that all information flows over from one system to another, the two parties must usually share an API. While the nuts and bolts of what an API is and does is a little too heavy for this post, let’s just say an API code is a garage door: an open view into a particular system and how to work with it better.

Does your CRM or marketing platform not have a garage door? Have no fear; there’s always a window. =)

Often, as is the case with Happy Grasshopper, lead information can be pulled into a system through utilizing a lead notification. When a new lead comes into your online lead source (Trulia, Zillow, your CRM, etc.), you’ll typically get a lead notification email letting you know. It also often provides lead information, such as name, email, and phone number. With that lead notification in place, we can then work to integrate and, more importantly, automate anyone coming from that online lead source in the future!

Not only do we want to help you keep in touch with all of your past clients and new leads, but we want you to do it more efficiently, allowing you to focus on your business and daily tasks. Think of integration with Happy Grasshopper like a TV remote: Sure, you could get up every time you want to change the channel, but why do it if you don’t have to? =)
